Nomadic barrel hunter Ian Battrick is the subject of next issue's profile. We've been catching up with him on everything from surviving quakes to living with bears, with just a little bit of tube time in between. It's out in a couple of weeks and is an absolute classic, here's a couple of tasters plus his insane helmet cam footage from Indo last year.

Mitch Corbett, one of TR7's finest is currently ill in hospital. A finer fellow you are unlikely to meet so get well soon mate, here's a couple of shots of him doing what he does best.

Ever slept in a transit van for two weeks with the night time temperatures never staying above freezing? Nope didn't think so, well I've just spent the last fortnight doing just that, scraping the ice off the inside of the van every morning just for a glimpse of the surf. Was it worth it? Yes, got to see the local boys up in Scotland getting some decent shacks and scored some pretty fun waves. More to come in a future issue.

Strap yourself in people, and turn the volume up to eleven (god that felt good to say that)... The new issue (Dec/Jan 188) will be hitting the shelves this week and it's rammed full of top grade content. Check out the teaser below, and then go and grab yourself a copy. We would like to thank everybody for all your support you have given us, our sales have gone ballistic this year and we have continued to grow. Without you guys this would not be possible so a big thankyou. It's our 30th year in 2010 so get ready... We are going to blow the bl**dy doors off, as we have BIG plans. Muchos love from all at WL.

Most Barrelled Man: Brian Conley. Like it or not, the Californian spends more time in the slot in an average year than you and I will in a lifetime...

Ireland: An Irish photo essay by photogs Pete Fleming & Aaron Pierce, and yes... it is that BIG!

Iceland: Virgin hunting grounds, vodka, rain, driving, coffee, ice, in no particular order. I forgot soup; Iceland is nothing without a good service station soup... Thats why Nunns gone to Iceland (sorry, bad joke but Ive waited ages to use it)

WCT SHOWDOWN: The euro leg of the 'CT sets up for the ultimate showdown... Gentlemen, to your corners please

Kill The Fear: This kind of thing takes a lot of practice and a fearsome set of testicles – so we thought we should ask Britain’s hardest charger (James Hick), to explain how he overcomes man’s most primal emotion.

Xmas Giftguide: Time to drop some serious gift hints to the other half, love is... A bloody good present, FACT

All This inside the Dec/Jan 2010 Issue 188: All this and much more, the Gift Guide will be online to download also... Happy Xmas and a ROCKIN 2010
