The 28th and the 29th of November saw the FXU Surf Club hosting the annual Freeriders and FXU Search Surf Competition 2009. The event turned in to a great success, as at first organisers were dubious about the forecasted conditions, but because there were a few spots to choose from the event got lucky with Saturday seeing head high waves at Porthmeor, St. Ives and the Sunday competition at Praa Sands getting overhead clean waves.



In the mens final, Jonathon Waugh took home the mens title in some classic conditions, whilst Jaydene Kerton took the women's final, allowing Plymouth A to take home the team victory. The event was organized by the FXU Surf Club and Freeriders Surf Shop, Falmouth. Sponsors for the event were Skinners Brewery, Pure Blue Water, Wavelength Magazine and Freeriders with the help of Creatures of Leisure and FCS.
