This week has dragged!.and when I mean dragged, I'm talking running 5 back to back marathon's hauling Andy Fordham along on in a trailer. In fact, I have nothing really interesting to talk about, apart from an awkward first meeting at the local church to discuss our wedding plans with the vicar. I'd like to think I made a fairly good impression, but I can't say the same for my misus and her total ineptitude as a functioning, socially aware human being. I lost count the amount of times I prayed for the sofa to swallow me up. It seemed every other sentence that came out of her mouth was either started with the word , contained a complete disregard for religion or merely could've been conceived by a man of the faith as slightly blasphemous;
"God! I would love to have children soon, if I had my way, I'd be waddling up the aisle with a bun in the oven."
'Do we have to have hymns?'
'Oh God! Do we have to have the organ playing in the church?'
(And my personal favourite) 'Walking up and down the aisle to organ music is my idea of hell!'
Needless to say a few eyebrows were raised, but I think he warmed to her by the end and I'm fairly confident he'lll still be up for marrying us thus officially turning her into a Selway, making her one very lucky lady indeed.
